Overcut Strategy is a specialist advisory practice working across public sector digital and technology markets.
We help government teams, digital suppliers and senior leaders make better decisions in complex environments where policy, procurement, technology, delivery and commercial incentives all interact.
The work is focused, practical and evidence-led. We are usually brought in where a team needs to understand a market more clearly, sharpen a strategy, improve supplier engagement, strengthen commercial capability, or create a better route from insight to action.
Our perspective
Public sector technology markets are rarely straightforward.
Government teams operate within policy, funding, procurement, governance and delivery constraints. Suppliers operate with commercial targets, product roadmaps, capacity limits and investment decisions. Local authorities, central government teams and technology providers often see different parts of the same system.
Overcut works across those boundaries.
That cross-market perspective helps us identify where friction is coming from, where value is being lost, and what practical options are available. The aim is not to add noise or produce activity for its own sake. It is to create clarity that supports better decisions.
What we work on
Overcut’s work sits across three connected areas.
Public sector strategy and market intelligence
We help public sector teams understand supplier landscapes, technology markets, system dependencies, structural risks and opportunities for better market-shaping.
This can include supplier engagement, market baselining, transparency options, procurement insight, operating model design and practical roadmaps for future work.
Supplier growth and commercial strategy
We help digital suppliers improve how they position, sell and grow in public sector markets.
This can include public sector growth strategy, account prioritisation, bid support, sales discipline, qualification, procurement navigation and commercial capability-building.
Senior advisory and leadership support
We support founders, executives and senior teams who need experienced external challenge.
This can include pressure-testing plans, reviewing proposals, preparing for stakeholder conversations, improving commercial judgement or creating clarity around complex decisions.
Recent work
Recent work includes advisory support to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on local government technology market intelligence, working on supplier and system baselining, structured insight into supplier capacity and constraints, transparency options and long-term capability.
Overcut has also supported digital and technology organisations with commercial strategy, target account approaches, revenue operating models, sales discipline and public sector positioning.
How we are set up
Overcut is a senior-led advisory practice with a flexible associate model.
We stay deliberately lean, bringing in trusted associates where wider capability is useful. That allows us to shape the right team around the work without defaulting to a large consulting model.
The work remains senior-led, practical and accountable.
Leadership
Overcut Strategy is led by Glen Ocskó, a strategic advisor with deep experience across UK public sector digital, technology suppliers and commercial growth.
Glen has worked with government teams, local authorities and digital businesses on strategy, supplier engagement, market intelligence, sales, growth and delivery. His work focuses on bringing structure and judgement to environments where complexity has become normalised and decisions feel harder than they should be.
